An Analysis Of Imperial Clansmen’s Military And Political Activities During The Former Qing Dynasty

The Group of Imperial Clansmen during the former Qing Dynasty, as a special social group, is the highest hierarchy of Qing regime. And this social group is bound with blood relationship and centered with imperial power. Throughout the history of former Qing Dynasty, it is easy for us to discover that the Imperial Clansmen Aisin Gioro are just in the period of hard pioneering, when conquering the kingdom is mainly dependent on taking horses. And the Imperial Clansmen Aisin Gioro at that time are the military cadres who not only fight north and south but also govern the armies. In addition, they are also the core of the political strength who run the country well, give people peace and security and deal with the national affairs. Meanwhile, there exist contradictions and conflicts between the Emperor(Khan)and the Imperial Clansmen and the Group of Imperial Clansmen, affecting the political situation of Qing Dynasty(Late Jin).In short, the Group of Imperial Clansmen during the former Qing Dynasty, as a unity, has great influence on the rise and development of the regime of Qing Dynasty(Late Jin). As to the performance in military and politics of the Group of Imperial Clansmen during the former Qing Dynasty, as well as their relationship with the rise of regime of Qing Dynasty(Late Jin), this thesis tries to make a deep analysis and discussion.The thesis contains five parts:The first part is introduction, mainly describes the definition of Qing Dynasty’s Imperial Clansmen, as well as research overview of relevant issues of Imperial Clansmen during the former Qing Dynasty; In the second part:it introduces the formation of the Group of Imperial Clansmen Aisin Gioro during the former Qing Dynasty, mainly from three aspects:the process of formation, quantities of members and factors influencing their status and performance, so as to get the macro-cognition of the Group of Imperial Clansmen during that period; The third part discusses the military and political activities of Imperial Clansmen during the Dynasties of Taizu Emperor. It mainly studies that Group’s great impact on Late Jin from three aspects:Imperial Clansmen’s military contribution, holding the Eight Banners and the fight for the position of Khan; The fourth part describes the military and political activities of Imperial Clansmen during the Dynasties of Taizong Emperor. It mainly discusses that Group’s great impact on Qing Dynasty(Late Jin)from four aspects: Imperial Clansmen’s military contribution, Eight King’s governing the national affairs jointly, commanding Six Ministries and inheriting of the throne; And the last part summarizes the features of the military and political activities of Imperial Clansmen, in addition, it also evaluates their activities.Through the research of this thesis, it tries to illustrate that the military and political activities of Imperial Clansmen’s Group during the former Qing Dynasty, has produced great impact to Qing’s(Late Jin) regime. And the aim is to explain that the Group of Imperial Clansmen is the incomparably important force during the process of promoting of Qing’s regime, furthermore, its strength can not be underestimated in a process where Qing’s (Late Jin)regime, from small to large and from weak to strong, conquered the Central Plain and unified the country.
