The Mediating Role Of Emotion Regulation Between Vicarious Traumatization And Empathy In Psychological Helpers

To investigate the relationship among vicarious traumatization, empathy and emotion regulation in psychological helpers A total of 140 in psychological helpers were investigated with TBS, IRI-C and Basic Ways of Emotion Regulation.Its results are listed as follows.1. The level of vicarious traumatization was lower middle. The level of empathy was upper middle. Rumination and revealing were main regulations of positive emotions,while reappraisal and negligence were main regulations of negative emotions. Antecedent-focused regulation was used more frequently than responded-focused regulation.2. The years of experience and counseling supervision of psychological helpers showed significant difference in vicarious traumatization.The gender of psychological helpers showed significant difference in the emotion regulation.3. Vicarious traumatization, empathy and emotion regulation in psychological helpers were significantly correlated with each other.4. Emotion regulation had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between the empathy and vicarious traumatization.
