| With the popularization of the Internet in modern society, more and more people tend to acquire news of the whole world via the internet. As we all know, the foreign people, especially Americans, are outspoken and good at irony, which is just the shortage of Chinese interviews. Therefore, this report is about the PBS NewsHour which is formed by an anchor and one or two more guests. They talked about the international affairs in their own unique opinions directly, which made the audiences view the issues in different angles.This thesis consists of three parts:introduction, main body and conclusion. Its main contents are as follows:The first part is the introduction. It introduces the background information of the PBS NewsHour and the practical significance of the interviews in it.The second part is the main body, which is made up of three chapters:Chapter One is on the task description. In this chapter, it first introduces the background of the interviews as well as the skills of interpreting and the skills required in consecutive interpreting.Chapter Two describes the processing of the interpreting. The author illustrates the importance of the factors like:preparation before interpreting and word list. And then, it analyzes the quality of the interpretation.Chapter Three is the main part, focusing on the cases analysis with the applying of the interpreting skills, including the interpretative of translation, amplification and reduction as well as syntactic linearity.The last part is the conclusion. By analyzing specific cases of the interpretation, the author rethinks the preparation work beforehand and also summarizes the advantages and disadvantages in the process of the interpretation. Finally, taking this as the opportunity, the author sums up the experience and shortages during the interpreting. Based on this, it’s further make the author clear out the direction of study and work in the future. |
