Study On The Acquaintances Between Chin And Yuan Literatus Li Junmin And Monks And Taoist

Li Junmin, who styled himself Yongzhang, was known as the Old Man Heming with a posthumous title Zhuang Jing. He was one of the accomplished literati lived in the late Chin and early Yuan. His works were ten volumes of “Zhuang Jing Collection” and one volume of “Yuefu by Mr. Zhuang Jing”, which were handed down from that ancient time. At present, academic circles make a deep study on Li Junmin’s life and experiences and also his poetry. However, these studies are mainly classified appreciation on his works. There are fewer studies on creation locations and years of his poems and articles. There even no comprehensive reorganization or a specialized study from the point of view of his acquaintances. It is even weaker on the study of his relationship with religion. This paper will mainly explore the above-mentioned unsolved problems.This paper fully absorbs the results of previous studies from the point of view of philology, and widely uses local records and books data to make an accomplishment.This paper studies on the acquaintances between Li Junmin and monks and Taoist from the following three aspects:In the first part, this paper makes a general chronicle of Li’s creative works according to Li Junmin’s life and historical data of the Jin and Yuan Dynasties. Besides, it gives a simple introduction of the creation background of his works, according to which draws an outline of the trajectory of his life. It lays the foundation for the study of his acquaintances with monks and Taoist.In the second part, it studies the situation of his acquaintances with a link of temples. Combining with the social reality of that time, this paper makes an analysis that the Buddhist compassionate heart was the foundation of his acquaintances with monks. Then it explores the effect of this kind of acquaintance to him.In the third part, it investigates his friendship with the Taoist and female Taoist combining with the Taoist temples and religious activities. This paper makes a reorganization and analysis on the poems and articles related to his acquaintances, which restore the original conditions of acquaintances between literati and Buddhist or Taoist at that time. Then it makes an ideological analysis on the ideological basis of his acquaintances with Taoist and female Taoist and the reasons of the formation.Finally, it makes a summary on the conditions of Li Junmin’s acquaintances with monks and Taoist and draws a conclusion.
