With the deepening of its Reform and Opening policy, China has more frequent communication and cooperation with other countries in the world, and the international community is paying more attention to its future development trend.Work reports of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress(NPC),which is the summary of work in the past year and makes the arrangement for work in the future, have gradually become an important platform for other countries to know China in an all-round way. It focuses on the work of the Chinese government,People’s Court of China and the Chinese People’s Procuratorate. Wu Bangguo’s work report of the NPC Standing Committee in the 12 th National People’s Congress is chosen as the material. The author does a sight interpreting practice of this report,videotaping and writing down the whole process so as to find various problems that occur in the practice. The author makes use of relevant theories of sight interpreting to analyze and summarize the problems systematically and probes into sight interpreting strategies and solutions.This report consists of three chapters. Chapter One is the description of the whole process. Chapter Two is the analysis of source text. Chapter Three mainly summarizes problems which occur in the process and propose possible solutions.This sight interpreting practice deepens the author’s understanding of interpreting theory as well as her practical interpreting ability. Meanwhile, it points out the problems existing in her present study and directions for efforts to be made in the future.
