Have since ancient times abstract art, in ancient times, our ancestors used abstract sign language to tell from ancient mystical beliefs, original grotto murals from Spain to modern cubism, constructivism and abstract expressionism, they all reflected the people’s inner world the true feelings. In the development of art design, figurative art coexist with abstract art, is a form of expression in graphic design, the abstract art and the modern plane design of the intimate relationship. Abstract art language can better reflect human emotion and self existence value, meet the people in the social life in the pursuit of freedom and aesthetic requirements, make the audience and the emotional resonance in abstract art.This article start from the origin and development of abstract art, abstract art language in modern graphic design was discussed the application of the research. The article is divided into five parts, from the research background, research object and research purpose and meaning, respectively, discussed the development of abstract art, abstract art layout design of the principle of visual and aesthetic principle, application and abstract art language of abstract art in the modern plane design development trend.In this complex, the fast pace of social life, we can see? We can have? We can do? These feelings mixed can use abstract art form to express, and to express our understanding of the world’s most true and feelings. Abstract art as a special way of artistic expression, with the difference between all the advantage of the external form. Abstract art language can be separated from the public to the unique artistic charm to express people’s psychological demands and the emotion, to the modern plane design has injected fresh blood.
