Teaching books hold an important place in education, and in fact constitute a principal support of education. With the development of Chinese education in Madagascar, the number and type of teaching books have also increased considerably. Unfortunately, those used for short-term programs are not sufficient, especially those books which are reserved to training centers.In short-term training center, students’ first aim is to be skilful to communicate with Chinese people in a very short time. But usually, having any link with the language and cultural Chinese knowledge is not necessary. Since she was a child, the author is interested in foreign cultures, and while learning Chinese language, she has discovered the close relationship between the culture and the language of a country, but she has also experienced that the lack of cultural knowledge is a big handicap for a language study.In order to solve these problems, but also to make a practice of her theoretical knowledge about the analysis of teaching books, the author has analyzed the 《Experiencing Chinese(Experiencing Culture in China) 》(French edition), a Mandarin learning book, whose main theme is Chinese culture, and which is reserved for short-term training.The analysis aim is to know whether or not this book can be used for teaching in short-term training centers in Madagascar.This memorandum introduction contains not only the context in which the study was realized and why it was done, but also the memorandum subject, its content and the adopted methods to make it. The research purpose and value, as well as a summary of the previous research for the study are also mentioned.While analyzing a language textbook, its advantages and disadvantages are defined, but it is done especially to know if the book fits in with the students’ needs in order to help them in their studies. In that case, first, the main criteria of short term education in the Chinese language teaching, namely its peculiarities, the prerequisites and the aim to be achieved, but especially the actual specialized books – are defined. Next, a study about the conditions in which short term Mandarin teaching is submitted in training centers in Madagascar- is done, focusing the research on the current situation, the actual books at the moment and any possible problems. In the second chapter, the manual analyze is set completely, including a presentation of it and the analysis of every part that makes it up. Last, some suggestions were issued regarding the manual content, cultural points and the opinion given by students and teachers. The conclusion summarizes the main lines of the paper and the results of research.Even if that paper presents imperfections, the author hopes that it will serve as a reference for teaching Chinese in short-term training centers in Madagascar, and can contribute to the improvement of the Chinese language teaching in Madagascar.
