Art education has always been an important part of quality education, which occupies a very important position, especially for cultivation of teenagers. Meanwhile, as a primary after-school education base with Chinese characteristics,Youth Palace has an irreplaceable role in enhancing artistic attainment, developing hobbies, shaping good character and promoting healthy and overall development of young people. Nowadays, art education of Youth Palace is not linked with that of school art curriculum for the education position is not accurate, education goal is not clear enough, and the relevance and effectiveness of education need to be enhanced, it is urgent to scientifically position the education idea, constantly innovate the education manner and continuously optimize the education management.At first, this paper deeply explains the basic concept of after-school education, art education and the art education of Youth Palace, carries out certain explanation to related connotations, and analyzes the value of Youth Palace art education in multiple level from perspectives of carrying out quality education, after-school education, art education and enhancing comprehensive culture quality. At the same time, it also analyzes the difficulties and problems in the process of developing art education in the Youth Palace in the present situation, and puts forward the possible exploration direction and potential target of the future art development of Youth Palace from four dimensions of improving the aesthetic ability of young people, developing adolescent personality traits, improving the innovation ability of young people and enhancing the moral cultivation of young people.Based on the experience of the domestic Youth palace art education, this paper takes Changsha city as an example for in-depth analysis, and puts forward the innovation of art education method, the innovation of content, the innovation of form and the innovation of evaluation system to comprehensively promote the innovation of Youth palace art education. In the innovation of method, it is proposed to carry out the method of situational education, experience education and enjoyable education to art education practice; in the innovation of content, it is proposed to enrich the content of artistic appreciation, the content of cultural activities, the content of moral education and the traditional culture and constantly enrich the connotation of adolescent art education; in the innovation of form, it is proposed to widely carry out cultural activities and cultural and artistic volunteer service, foster youth literature and art community, use network remote education technology and innovate art education carrier of young people; in the innovation of evaluation system, it is proposed to break the single mode of scoring evaluation only by teachers, adopt the combining method of teachers and students, grade evaluation method and comment evaluation method, more comprehensively and scientifically evaluate art education effectiveness, better stimulate the subjective initiative and enthusiasm of young people to learn art.Meanwhile, considering the actual situation of the art education of Changsha Youth Palace, this paper proposes some protection measures for the youth palace art education innovation from the optimization of educational environment, the improvement of teaching staff, the integration of social resources, the implementation of scientific management and other aspects. The research of this thesis is to play positive practical significance in promoting deep reform and sustainable development of the Changsha Youth Palace.
