The concept of personality trait was first proposed by Willard Allport Galton (Allport Gordon) in early twentieth Century. In 1960s, the research on personality traits has become a hot research field and mainstream research direction in personality psychology. At the end of the 20th century, take Seligman and Csikszentmihalyi’s "Introduction to positive psychology" as a sign, positive psychology become an emerging science, which is devoted to the exploration of human’s virtue and strength began to enter the field of vision, and developed fast. As an important part of positive psychology, positive personality has attracted more and more attention with its unique status and important research value. At the same time, the work performance which is closely related to the growth and development of the enterprise has already entered the researchers’field of vision, and has been deeply studied and discussed. On the basis of this, the research on the relationship between personality traits and job performance has been launched.Based on relevant theories and previous research results, this study takes Seligman’s positive personality traits as the theoretical basis and uses empirical research methods to explore employees’ positive personality traits on job performance.Firstly, the paper makes reviewing of the related theory of positive personality traits and job performance. Secondly, this paper uses SPSS 19.0 statistical analysis software to make statistic analysis. Which mainly include:testing the reliability and validity of the questionnaire, arranging the demographic data and using empirical analysis to explore the influence of positive personality traits on working performance. In seeking the correlation of knowledge staffs’ positive personality traits between the various dimensions of the association and distinction, mainly uses the simple correlation analysis method; in the study of knowledge staffs’ positive personality traits on job performance, mainly uses the linear regression analysis. After careful empirical data test and analysis, this study can get the conclusions as follows:(1)The knowledge staffs’ positive personality traits have a significant positive effect and a good forecast effect on job performance;(2) The intelligence and courage characteristics of knowledge staffs are positively correlated with job performance;(3) The control characteristics of knowledge staffs do not have a significant impact on job performance.At the end, making analysis and reflection on some problems existing in the research and providing a reference for the follow-up related research deployment. With a view to further enrich and develop the positive personality traits and work performance relationship theory research results.
