The Brief Description Of The Personal History Compilation In Late Ming Dynasty

Mr.Bai Shouyi used the word ‘pale’ describe the history development before Jiajing of Ming Dynasty. Although his comment seems to be exaggerated,it reveal the fact that private historical writing is rather depressed in the earlier period of hundred remaining years of Ming Dynasty. Private historical writing is becoming increasingly prevail after the rule of Emperor Jiajing, the prosperity can be compared with Wei-Jin Dynasty and Song Dynasty. This paper intends to consider the Jiajing as the starting point and focus on the phenomenon of private historical writing between the Jiajing and the perdition of the Ming Dynasty. This paper is based on a lot of existing research results、personal writings and history books in Ming Dynasty, and refer to the book summary Qian Qing Tang Shu Mu、Ming Shi· Yi Wen Zhi. The purpose of this paper is to make a macro and overall investigation for the private historical writing activities between the Jiajing and the perdition of the Ming Dynasty.The first chapter mainly analyzes the factors of the private historical writing prosperity,The rise of economic development and people’s culture、Liberal political atmosphere and the improvement of scholar’s living environment、Active and prosperous thought、The decline of the Dynasty and Realistic appeal of the historiography、These factors becoming the Critical conditions of promoting the development of private historical writing from four aspects of political, economic, cultural, academic,.The second chapter aims at the study of the achievements in different field of private writing at that time. By the analysis the achievements in the era of the contemporary history、ancient history、Ethnic history and foreign history、institutional history,Thus revealing the scale and characteristics of the private historical writing development in the late Ming Dynasty.The third chapter mainly discusses the contribution of Privately History Writing in the late Ming Dynasty for traditional historiography. By the explore of the activities of private historical writing in late Ming Dynasty, it reveals the fact that history scholars made significant contributions to the Historical Thoughts、History Theory、Textual History、Historical genre.
