Researches on Chinese character have been more and more nowadays. Applications of Chinese character in design have been more often to be seen. As the ideogram which’s still being used today, Chinese character maintain its enormous vitality among the phonograms. Although phonograms hold the main statue in difference areas of design worldwide, the designers of the Orient still keep marching on the road of discovering a better way to combine ideogram and design, especially designers in Japan, China and etc. Thanks to them, the ancient language has taken on a brand new life. When designers in our country turn blindly worship eyes from Western culture and their design, founding the beauty of our own civilization all around us inside and out will be an inevitable fact.Throughout the examples with the applications of Chinese character in a growing number of designs, we have to admit that some are mincing or just a mere formal application of Chinese character. How to really use Chinese character in different design fields properly,and explore the relevance between itself and design to strengthen cultural ties with the Chinese character, so that the greatest design itself, Chinese character, successfully combining with design as a whole, would be an urgent problem that we have to face and solve.In the museum logo design, graphic refers to the use of Chinese character in the main part of the logo design and the right combination of graphics with its own characteristics(such as its region, nation, etc.). This article tries to analyze, classify and summarize the selected examples through historical and cultural sense for different characters in graphical applications expressed.Today, the number of different kinds of museums grows more and more. As the recorder of history’s development and its progress, the museum logo also represents the history and culture of different ethnic groups in different regions. As the increasing complex information and graphics, Chinese character graphically in museum logos connects past and today, "form" and "meaning", inside and out. By analyzing applications of Chinese character graphically in museum logo design, summarized the characters in the graphic design to balance the "form" and "meaning", convey information at the same time without losing the sense of national history and also has extensive readable graphics.
