Study On The Relationship Between Su Xuelin’s Works And Christian Culture

Su Xuelin as the most long-lived author in modern Chinese literary world makes great contribution for fiction, prose, drama, literary criticism and academic research. The may 4th new cultural movement has deep influence on her. She also became a Christian so that her literary works are deeply affected by Christianity culture. She wrote her article to express her own understanding of Christianity and Christianity culture by various forms. This thesis will discuss the relationship between Su Xuelin’s literary work and Christianity culture from the following three aspects.The first part will discuss the difficult road for Su xuelin to believe in Christianity and later how she started to believe in Christianity and became a real christian finally. The second part will mainly discuss Su xuelin how to absorb and show the Christianity spirit in her contents of literary works. From the aspect of her works’ contents, the paper will discuss the three effects that the Christianity spirit has influence on her literary creation. First, Christianity advocates fraternity, and Su xuelin wrote her article showing the topic of love. Second, the Christianity spirits contain the thoughts of confession as same as the confess consciousness and praying are expressed in her literary works. Third, the sacrificial and redemptive spirit in Christianity are similar to the sense of nationalism and the sense of hardships which are expressed in her literary works. The third part discusses Su’s literary creation in the art of Christian culture for reference, talk about the influence of Christianity on Su Xuelin’s literary creation from the perspective of art and literature.
