| At present, individuals and their families are paying more attention to health care delivery. Meanwhile, the demand of health professions education is improving. Therefore, translating the newest international reports on medical outcomes and studies is beneficial for domestic medical personnel to know the latest development in medical trends and key focuses. The author selects Measuring the Impact of Interprofessional Education on Collaborative Practice and Patient Outcomes, a medical report issued by IOM, as translation materials. This translation task involves Glossary, Preface, Summary and the first three chapters.This report takes the translation practice on English to Chinese of a medical report for example, analyzing the problems and solutions of this translating process, and discussing features and strategies of translating medical reports.This practice report mainly includes four chapters. In Chapter One, the author introduces the translation task, describes the background and characteristics of the original text, analyzes the current situation of interprofessional education at home and abroad; Chapter Two describes the preparation of translation auxiliary tools, the selection of translation principles, the formulation of translation plan and the control of translation quality; Combining Skopos theory closely, Chapter Three selects part of typical cases and analyzes them from four aspects----how to translate different specialized vocabularies, how to translate headers academically, how to translate and make a chart, how to translate italics and punctuation. The last chapter concludes the practical meaning or deficiencies of this translation practice report. |
