Literary Study On Fang Yu Sheng Lan (方舆胜览)

Scholars often compile poems and proses from the geography books, however, they seldomly study those literary works on an original view. The literary works appear in these geography books from the Song Dynasty(960-1279), it’s a great change in the history. But if we just concentrate on the compiling work, we can not get much more useful imformation from the research. Therefore, it is necessary for us to change our research methods from a traditional thought.The thesis have three chapters in all, mainly study on the Fang Yu Sheng Lan(方舆胜览，a nationwide geography book edited by Zhu Mu(祝穆)and his son in the Song Dynasty. The chapter one has three sections and mainly discuss some background knowledge, such as the culture atmosphere, the long combiantion history of geography books and literary works, the deeper meaning of the preface and postscript wrote by Zhu. The chapter two has four sections and mainly discuss the editing features of Fang Yu Sheng Lan. We can see some interesting culture meanings hiding back the important parts(eg. Custom, figures, poems and parallel proses) in this way. The chapter three has two sections and mainly discuss the use and influence of the book, we can find the interactive relationship between the geography books and literary works, even we can learn some knowledge about the establishment of the Han culture circle in East Asia. On this basic meaningful study, we draw a conclusion in the last.
