Translation Of Ecotourism’’s Words From The Perspective Of Skopos Theory

Since the 1980s, tourism has become a rising prosperity industry in our country, which turns into an important part in the development of economy. With the adoption of the reform and opening up policy since the end of the 20th century, China has witnessed the rapid development in its tourism industry. According to the related information from China National Tourism Administration over the years, tourism has accounted for more than 4% of GDP in the world and provides jobs for 200 million people all over the world. Taking advantage of the good result, tourism gets rapid development in the economic realm. The key point of the realization of maintaining the all-round development of tourism is to develop ecological tourism that develops quickly in tourism and its annual growth rate is over 30% and it also has the tendency of further rising. From this perspective, tourism industry will pave its way to rapid development in future.The work concerned on environmental protection and problems one keeping ecological balance have always been attracting the attention of the international community. Many countries in the world have taken a series of countermeasures on them and our government is no exception. Since the 1990s, in order to develop ecological tourism, a variety of natural reserve areas have been established in nationwide and there are nearly thousands of visitors travelling to nature reserves or the forest park every year. However, there are a series of such problems as disorderly exploitation and lack of effective management in developing tourism resources and thus they lead to environmental pollution and ecological destruction in certain areas, resulting in loss of tourism resources to some degree.By the token, the development of tourism would not go smooth without scientific theoretical guidance and practical and feasible approaches. Furthermore, ecological tourism is the development strategy put forward to improve the previous problems existing in traditional tourism. Based on that, the paper takes the translation of ecological tourism’s commentaries as a breakthrough point in the research. On the one hand, it analyzes and summarizes systematically on the related research achievements of predecessors, and on the other hand, the writer makes a good number of investigations by taking pictures and so on and makes comparison among the translations of ecological tourism’s commentaries especially the similarities and differences between China’s and foreign countries’and proposes personal opinions by adhering to the idea of combining theory with practice on the basis of comprehensive investigation and understanding.This thesis consists of five parts:The first part is the introduction of full text that mainly includes research purpose, background and significance as well as elaboration of main research contents; the second part is a few key concepts of the article including the meaning and function of ecological ecotourism commentaries; the third part is about the core of skopos theory related to translation and the principles of translation; the fourth part is about the present situation as well as the existing problems in the translations of ecological tourism’s commentaries and coming up with translating strategies on the basis of analyzing the problems; while the last part is the conclusion that mainly summarizes the whole text.
