Task-based approach emerged in the 1980’s, the core of the teaching approach is "student-centered" which focus on the Chinese communicative ability of the students. Compared with traditional teaching methods, the teaching mode of Task-based approach is teachers design some close to real environment tasks, students learned Chinese during the execution of the task, which emphasizes "learn by doing." The teaching method currently has been widely used in foreign language teaching profession.At present, in the environment of global Chinese language fever. The Chinese learning in Thailand developed better and better. As a main country to promote Chinese language, the Chinese language has a long history of education in Thailand, and in recent years have become increasingly frequent exchanges between China and Thailand cooperation, the development of Chinese language teaching in Thailand is very good. At the same time, Chinese language teaching in Thailand inevitably has some problems. In order to solve these problems, Chinese linguists conducted a number of studies about Chinese teaching in Thailand. They mainly survey the current situation of Chinese teaching in Thailand, discuss the teaching methods in Thailand Chinese teaching, teaching strategies, speech grammar error analysis, analysis of students’learning motivation and etcs; but also increasingly involved in the Task-based approach of Chinese teaching in Thailand.The thesis based in first-hand materials which the author obtained from Thailand Chiang Mai Rajabhat University teaching practice, under the guidance of the theories of task-based approach, through analysis the interviews with the students, the teaching cases in Chiang Mai Rajabhat University and the intermediate Chinese comprehensive course, it is concluded that the task-based approach is applicable to the Chiang Mai Rajabhat University majoring in Chinese language teaching.The article is divided into six parts. The first chapter is the introduction, which mainly introduces the background, the significance, the research object and the method. The second chapter is the related literature review, the definition, origin and theoretical basis of the task-based approach, the teaching method in the domestic and foreign language teaching in the current situation, the application of the teaching of Chinese in Thailand. The third chapter mainly analyzes the feasibility of the task-based approach from description of the Chinese teaching situation in the University of Chiang Mai Rajabhat, which includes the intermediate Chinese comprehensive course and the students. The fourth chapter is the core chapter. It will show and analyze the cases selected from the intermediate Chinese comprehensive class in Chiang Mai Rajabhat University. The fifth chapter is the evaluation and analysis of the teaching effect, through the interviews of the students collects the suggestions and obtains the correct method and the matters needing attention in the intermediate Chinese comprehensive course. The last chapter is the conclusion. Summarizes and points out the shortcomings of the paper, hoping to provide a reference for the majority of foreign language educators in the teaching practice.
