In Europe, France has been a leader in the field of Chinese language teaching, particularly, in primary and secondary schools, Chinese language teaching is very popular. In recent years, Hanban sends to France more and more Chinese teachers and volunteers, many of Chinese teachers and volunteers go to the primary and secondary schools in France. However, many of them works as Chinese assistant in France, their just need to assist the major Chinese teacher to successfully complete Chinese language teaching. At present the research of Chinese teaching in France focuses on the teacher’s training, teaching methods, etc. But for the Chinese assistants who work in France, the research is not enough. And it seems to be insufficient for job duties of Chinese assistantsI have done a year of internship in the International school of Valbonne in France, as Chinese assistant. I would like to study my work cases in France to let people know more about the post of Chinese assistant in France, and at the same time, to provide some help to some friends who will work as Chinese assistant in France, through giving them some inspiration in how to assist Chinese teacher. In addition, I hope to provide some useful recommendations to the Chinese teacher and volunteer training aiming at France. All the things are the practical meaning of my thesis.My thesis is divided into three parts:The first part is the first chapter. It introduces the research background, discusses the research significance, summarizes the relevant literature review, describes the overall situation of Chinese language teaching in my intern school, clarify lastly the research method.The second part is the core of my thesis. There are Chapter Ⅱ, Chapter Ⅲ, and Chapter Ⅳ. The three chapters include three parts:the adjustment of Chinese assistant’s attitude; the relation between Chinese assistant and student; the cooperation between Chinese assistant and major teacher. I will present my advantage, my drawback and my experience during my internship, by using sixteen cases studies. It is possible to make the relevant research and will assume office volunteers to better understand the real French Chinese assistant’s work, while I will give my specific reflection by combining different cases in this section on how to do a good Chinese assistant.The third part is the summary. According to front parts which make different reflection lessons in different situations for assistant work, this part give my own suggestions to the new volunteers in France who work as Chinese assistant. I hope these new Chinese assistants can all prepare well in advance after reading this thesis.The paper also will be able to complement the research of Chinese teaching in France, through studying work cases which appears during my internship in International school of Valbonne, and to supplement the research of Chinese language teaching which aims at teenagers in France. I wish people can have a more intuitive understanding for the situation of French teenagers learning Chinese. At the same time, I want very much to make my own summary on how to do a teaching assistant in France.
