St.Augustine has a writings fruitful life.He was called the banner of medieval Christian Theological Aesthetics.He dedicated his life to merge Classical Philosophy, Hebrew Jewish cultural beliefs and Christianity that he created his very inclusive Christian theology system. So while he himself was later regarded as the godfather of the system has a complete theory pioneer and master of philosophy. In the history of Western aesthetics, researchers believe that he can be regarded as the last one esthetician of Classical Aesthetics, and was regarded as Europe leads the way in the medieval aesthetics. Throughout the Middle Ages, St.Augustine’s aesthetics and artistic viewpoints are undoubtedly regarded Western aesthetics marked the beginning of Christian theology, for future generations to leave many classic masterpieces. Therefore, for digging of Augustine aesthetics and artistic thought, we can say that he is the way to medieval aesthetics. Pushing the door of St.Augustine’s great thoughts, we will certainly see the glory of medieval aesthetics.This study attempts to start with the perspective of art and its mission, combing through both come St.Augustine’s unique mission of art concept. By the content,causes and uniqueness of St.Augustine’s mission concept concludes that he should have the divinity pursuit under his Christian art backgrounds. Furthermore, finding out the divinity aesthetic pursuit which hidden under the Christian backgrounds.The paper consists of three parts: The first part is a sort of Classical Philosophy and Classical Aesthetics related to the concept of the mission, the conclusion is that part of the mission of St.Augustine’s idea of art is not only contain the word meanings we now believe that the mission have, it will be the background for Christian Theology under the so-called ethics people should have the ideal life and the ultimate pursuit of human existence should include them; The second part is the mission of St.Augustine’s concept of art content, causes and unique analysis, combing his artistic philosophy and mission of the Christian concept of Classical Philosophy background, and then again clear divinity pursue his artistic mission concept behind broad ideological connotations; The third part is the concept of divinity his artistic mission included from the theological background to pursue the ultimate pursuit of mankind, that transcendence, transition, and made St.Augustine still has considerable research value in contemporary society not only in its Christian God philosophy, but also his own unique artistic mission viewpoints beyond the human desire to pursue the ultimate in modern human spirit dilemma, as well as the end of art and other aesthetic generalization the backdrop for contemporary art still exists Guidance significance.
