Since 2012, College of Chinese language and culture, Jinan University and Chinese Testing Center for Chinese Language Education Research Institute has started to devote to the research and development of standardized language proficiency test—the Huawen Proficiency Test. On the basis of previous studies, Mainly through the issuance of questionnaires,In this paper, We investigate and analyze the overseas Chinese needs for The HSC Proficiency Test. The sample mainly is comes from Asia, Americas, Europe’s overseas Chinese community. With teachers’ group is given priority to, in addition to the identity of the students, parents, and other overseas Chinese. Through the investigation of their basic needs, and the elements of language, language ability in the HSC Proficiency Test, In addition, with particular emphasis on Chinese characters and culture, At the same time paying attention to the significance and value of the test,Put forward some suggestions and prospects on its design and implementation, And then promote the further development of Chinese education in overseas.
