This paper mainly analyzes actions of America(being the hegemonic state) and IMF(being an international mediator) in the Mexico debt crisis and further reveals hegemonic power of Amerca in the debt crisis based on the theory of hegemonic stability. American hegemonic influence reflects in not only internal regime(artical revisions and power structure) and the function of persuade mechanism of International Monetary Fund(IMF) but also influence of economic policies(Brady Plan) on organizational actions. In addition, America usually take advantage of this influence to maintain international monetary system centerer by IMF. As the analysis of American hegemony from the perspective of hegemonic function(internal regime) of international organization is in short, this thesis provides a picture for international economic cooperation of power states during debt crisis and hence a deeper understanding of the methods for America achieving hegemonic influence in international operation.
