The Research Of The Same Phonetic Signs’ Cognates In Shuowenjiezi

The research of cognates is an important project in modern etymology. A group of cognates that we connect have a same origin.They develop from a same root.In the period of creating Chinese character,they have connection on voice and significance.Researches about cognates can help us to extensively find out how the meaning of the words and expressions multiply and develop.The thesis use sememe analytic method,comparative analytic method and statistical method.Articles from Duan Yucai ancient phonetic sound of the second part,with collate the ancient sound of the 18 second character is shaped from the phonetic sound of the word annotation.The press significance the relevance of these phonogram into 59 groups.In the part of discussion,we introduce the ancient seventeen sound of Duan Yucai,etymology and cognates research survey,the purpose and mission of the research,determining methods of research.The main part of the article is to analysis the sound and meaning of 59 groups cognates that we sort out.The article is divided into four chapters.According to the ancient initials of representing sound part,we divide the 59 groups cognates into five kinds.In the part of conclusion,we find from the research there are a lot of words and expressions have homologous relationship.We can completely negate the ‘you wen shuo’that all sound characters must have meaning.And we can know there are two types of sound character.One kind is just a pure sound character that does not express any meaning.The other kind have two functions.This kind of sound character not only deliver voice but also convey meaning.
