| Shadow Play of Tangshan China is one of art cultures in East Hebei. It’s the best precious that the shadow play owns the expression of its unique design, decorative patterns, bright color,good moral and aesthetic value. Its aesthetic features is not only closely related with Chinese traditional culture but also affected by the folk art. It shows that decorative patterns and rich meaning with folk art are complement each other. In the modern design language symbols, using of traditional language of folk art exceeds the concept of shadow play art form itself. The shadow play elements infiltrate the modern art design. It brings the new art forms for people life as well as promotes better the modern design aesthetic taste.Through screening, investigation, collection and comparison, the paper is encountered well. It mainly introduces Tangshan Shadow character modeling,development process of decoration and related analysis of traditional folk arts and culture.In addition, the Tangshan Shadow play’s character modeling and decorative language modeling such as structure, patterns, colors, and craftsmanship are explored deeply and summarized to find the other art value. Its main purposes show that firstly the development and characteristics of Tangshan Shadow play character modeling and decorative language are analyzed with theory and practice. Secondly the Tangshan Shadow character modeling and decoration integrate into new symbolic elements. The use of their advantages presented modern art and design concepts to enable them better inheritance and development.In a summer, Tangshan Shadow character modeling and decorative language are analyzed and summarized. It is realized that our responsibility to the next generation is to carry forward the excellent folk art and culture.
