A port city that owns developed logistics industry, Ningbo has a lot of business transportation contracts in circulation. So from the perspective of local condition of Ningbo, this report chooses to translate four different kinds of business transportation contracts that the author has encountered in internship period. To translate this kind of text type, the author should guarantee that the target readers won’t have any reading barriers brought by cultural difference and the language. Thus, the trading between China and the world could be greatly accelerated. And with the guidance of relevance theory, this report will put forward suitable solutions according to the translation difficulties discovered in the process of translation so as to make the translation of business transportation contracts in Ningbo with a standard form.The author chooses Agency Agreement of International Cargo Transportation, Agreement of Transportation Management, Cargo Delivery Contract and Agreement on Shipping Export Transportation these four typical kind of transportation contracts from more than 10,000 words of daily translation practice. Then a detailed analysis to the text styles, translation background, translation process and translation strategies will be given in this report.This report has found that the choice of diction, cultural background and context are the three main translating difficulties. Therefore, strategies of literal translation, inverse translation and reconstructing should be flexibly adopted on basis of the above translation difficulties. Finally, the author expects that this report can offer some guidance and references to other translators and researchers who study on related business transportation contracts.
