China is facing many contradictions in the late Qing dynasty, the intrusion of the outside enemy, the peasant uprising As one falls. Under the impact of the domestic trouble and foreign invasion, the Qing government face a serious political and economic crisis, especially in the Xinjiang region, the situation is more serious. In the here face the complex relationship between nationality and religion, directly facing Russia stepped up their external, all kinds of contradictions and perplexing intertwined. Many nationalities in Xinjiang, the value is different between different ethnic and religious culture. Han nationality as one of the many ethnic groups in Xinjiang, after the uprising in 1864, the normal production and life are destroyed,forced into war, the Han people emerge as the times require under this background.This paper selects Xinjiang Han nationality Civil Corps as research object, mainly in order to clarify the main reason of Han nationality Civil Corps formation and its role in history, To explore the inner relationship of ethnic relations, in order to provide some historical reference for the healthy development of the Xinjiang ethnic relations in today.This paper starts from the formation of the settlement of Han nationality in Xinjiang, through the description of the background of the Han nationality Civil Corps, focuses on the historical merits of the Civil Corps, and found that the developmental trace of the Civil Corps evolution. This thesis is divided into three parts: the first part is the overview about the cause and the geographical distribution of Han nationality Civil Corps. The second part discusses the main activities of the Civil Corps during the war and its historical achievements, from the cluster preservation, the fight against the Yakoob invading forces, to curb Russia’s Armed Reconnaissance, assist Qing dynasty to recover Xinjiang,from the four aspects to show the role of Civil Corps. The third part is the understanding and evaluation of Han nationality Civil Corps in Xinjiang, mainly introduce the Civil Corps ending, the Qing government awareness of the Civil Corps, Civil Corps Compared with the mainland militia, evaluation of the Civil Corps. Civil Corps come from the production of the war, as the Qing dynasty recover Xinjiang to end its own mission, from soldiers to formers again. The Han nationality Civil Corps as a product of the Han nationality as a result of the unity of self during the war, its emergence and development of evolution is closely related with the complex environment of Xinjiang.
