The Form As Politics

Zhou Zuoren’s literature and thought went through a ’transformation’ process in 1930s(from 1927-1937) which was also the ’stylized’ period for his main literary forms and theories. In the literature forum dominated by ’revolutionary literature’ in 1930s, the literary creation of Zhou Zuoren went through the process from aphasia to recovery; this process and the trend of thought of revolutionary literature was closely related with its ’reverse’ impact. In this period, his change of form is the imaginary solution to individual crisis, which shows his efforts to rebuild the linguistic world and thus to realize ’dialogue’ under the impact of revolutionary literary trends of thoughts:on one hand, form is built up through a series of significant and valuable dual opposition; on the other hand, form represented a kind of special historical conflict and transition state, which is of cryptic political intent.
