Impressionism was born in France in the 1860s. The paiter Claude Monet was one of the most important representative figures of it, by whom the term "Impressionism" is derived from the title of a oil painting Impression,Sunrise. In the 19th century, the ongoing vigorous Industrial Revolution in France spurred a big social reform that the manufacturing processes were going from hand production methods to machines, which caused increase in productivity. In the industry about painting tools, the paint filled in tin shells appeared, which was cheap, easy to carry and meet painters’demand of going out sketching conveniently. The painters represented by Monet went out of studios into fields and countrysides for sketching, who felt changing of light and colors of the nature with their eyes. They were searching new ways and methods of painting constantly. As the result, they realized the transformation from realism to impressionism after the continual research and transferring to search the breakthrough in expression of colors.
