The art of seals, as one of Chinese unique arts, plays an important role in Chinese culture. With characters of materiality and spirituality combined with practical and aesthetic values, seals represents the history and culture in China. Compared with "Jade Text", "Silk Book", "Oracle", "Jin", "Jian Du Text" and other fonts, the Han Seal is even more important that cannot be ignored. Han Dynasty is the peak period for sealing, judged as the monument along with "Tang Poetry", "Paintings of Song Dynasty" and "Yuan Verse". In this period, with a large range of magnificent cutting cast, abundant materials and a complete management, sealing techniques were the basis of development in later periods.Sealing technique in Han dynasty is the peak period in China which was entitled to the high statue in the history. It is the combination of the calligraphy, the methodicalness and the cave. A good seal should concern not only the calligraphic style, but also the drawing composition and the cave method. This paper is an overview of excavated seals in Xuzhou, includes the background and systematical analysis for the aesthetic implication of represented seals. Xuzhou, as an important area in Han dynasty, uses seals popularly and buried them in tombs as a tradition in the early Western Han. There were almost 5000 seals that were excavated from Emperor’s tombs which includes seal techniques such as incuse, chisel, grind and lute. This paper analyzes art characters and aesthetic implication of seals in Xuzhou systematically and lists some specific examples to discuss how sealing technique in Han dynasty can get rid of stuff characters to show their vivid design. Excavated seals in Xuzhou are both with high historical and art value.Different styles of Han seals in Xuzhou can be showed as natural, romantic and solemn. The natural style is one of the most important aesthetic perspective which construct a peaceful visual impact. The romantic style displays the magnificent spirits. The solemn style reveals tenderness of seals.The elegant form, abortive composition and the hardness spirit intensify the impact of art which also indicates the aesthetic implication of Han Seals in Xuzhou. As the classic in the history of seals, Han Seals show simple and enthusiastic customs, reveal spirits of progressive and optimistic in Han dynasty.
