| This article aimed to pursue the rack between the traditional painting in mid nineteenth Century to mid twentieth Century in Shanghai and Suzhou area,and then to discuss the art communication between Shanghai and Suzhou In this period. The prosperity of Suzhou is far more than Shanghai in late Qing dynasty, many of the early Shanghai artists went to Suzhou to sell paintings, playing, visiting friends or work,study.During this period, Suzhou attracted the arrival of Shanghai artists as the cultural center, the collection center and trading center in southern of China. After that, with the gradual prosperity of Shanghai and the decline of the central position in Suzhou, many artists began to went to Shanghai.They brought along with the flavor of traditional painting style in Wu region. In the process of communication with Shanghai fashion painting style and painting market,the painting style in Suzhou region constitute a painting style of the Shanghai’s painting, and then increases the richness of Shanghai painting world.My article will illustrate the communication between artists in Shanghai and Suzhou for three parts.First of all, the author will introduce the general situation of the geography, culture of Suzhou,and especially the resources of Suzhou what attracted the Shanghai artists.The second chapter mainly analyzes the situation that Shanghai artists in Suzhou, through the experiences of several Shanghai artists who coming to Suzhou successively to find the resources what Suzhou provided to Shanghai.The third chapter is divided into two parts, firstly the author will briefly describes the conditions of non art Suzhou people went to Shanghai.Because they will to be as the potential customers and patrons who provide power for the prosperity of Shanghai calligraphy and painting market.And then, I will talk about the general situation of Suzhou painters went to shanghai, and the painting style they brought to Shanghai. |
