| This paper aims to have a field investigation on a unique folk dance “Jiezi Dance” in the town of Zhao Dingzhuang, Yongchang County of Gansu Province to have a systematic theoretical study on the style and characteristics of this kind of dance. Based on this, this paper attempts to have an interpretation on cultural connotation of its form and make an analysis on its present situation and future development.The text of this paper is organized as follows. In the part of introduction, the objective and significance, research methods, and research status of the present study are described. Chapter one is overview of the relevant cultural background of Yongchang County and introduction of the historical origin of “Jiezi Dance”. Chapter two is analysis of the performance mechanism of this dance with the method of extraction of dance ecology characteristics. Chapter three is analysis of many aspects of the dance such as the typical dance domain by field investigation. Chapter four is a comprehensive analysis of the cultural connotation of the dance. Chapter five is description of the present situation and future development of the dance. |
