Practice Report On The Escort Interpreting Of China International Film And Television Exhibition In 2014

With the rapid development of global progress, China has been closely connected with other countries. Therefore, as the significant means of communication with foreign countries, interpretation plays a more and more important role under the new circumstance. At the same time, as China’s further opening up, more and more foreign enterprises begin to aim at our market, which makes the demand of escort interpretation particularly urgent. Escort interpreting, whose importance and level of difficulty are often underestimated, but the truth is that escort interpreting plays a vitally important role in introduction and communication. Because of the wide-ranging contents or poor ability of the interpreter, the wrong or vague interpreting may cause huge financial loss to related companies. According to the survey, competent escort interpreters are far from meeting the enormous need.This practice report is based on the author ’s personal experience of participating in the International Film and Television Exhibition in 2014, meanwhile the author combines the translation theory and method learned during the post-graduate study. The whole report is divided into four parts. The first chapter mainly introduces the interpretation task including its background, details, features and the structure of report. The second chapter mainly discusses the process of interpretation including the preparations before interpreting and the process of interpretation. As the most important part of the report, the third chapter makes a careful and comprehensive analysis about the cases of interpretation combined with skopos theory. Finally, the forth chapter concludes the experience and lessons from this interpreting task.
