China has established close ties with the world against the backdrop of globalization. In recent years, more and more international conferences have chosen China as the host country and thus providing broad platforms for countries to strengthen their political, economic or cultural communication within each other. Liaison interpreter, however, on one hand is a messenger for participants who come from different countries, on the other is one of the standards that miles the level of conference. On September 11 th, 2013, the 7th Davos Forum was open in Dalian. After passing the volunteer selection held by Dalian municipal government, the author was chosen to be one of the liaison interpreters for Davos Forum, providing language service for the participants.During the working days, various English accents impressed the author a lot, such as French accent, Southeast Asia accent, Middle-east accent and Africa accent. Besides interpretation, liaison interpreters were also responsible for the reception of foreign affairs. When facing so many participants, it is important for interpreters to know some foreign affair etiquette. For this reason, explanations was made in the thesis about interpreter’s language quality, non-language quality, and foreign affair etiquette. Moreover, learning about the differences concerning language habit, working habits, religions and dressing customs between eastern and western is of great importance for interpreting. Therefore, some coping strategies are proposed on the basis of the comparison above in order to make my humble effort to promote interpreting education and the cultivation for liaison interpreters.Good preparation is very essential for finding out and tackling difficulties during interpreting. It is necessary to learn about the working background, cultural knowledge of western countries and collect materials of various English accents. This paper emphasizes on finding out difficulties and coping them with practical theory or strategies, thus making it a reference for research studies in related field.、It is found that studies on liaison interpreting are mostly specific research, such as conference interpreter, and the research documents on accents are mainly about an individual accent while very few of which practiced a comprehensive study about various accents. Therefore, the author has to draw the conclusion on the basis od experience and few references. To better finish the task, good preparation is necessary: such as learning about the working background, practice interpretation skills, improving foreign affair etiquette, trying to adapt to various accents. Hereby, a comprehensive introduction on English accents are proposed in the thesis, hoping it has a reference value for liaison interpreter’s selection and cultivation.
