Base on the Romance of the Western Chamber ornamentations as the research object, time dimension as the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty, using the image study, archaeology, statistics and other research method, in this paper, the influence of Huizhou prints in late Ming and early Qing Dynasty exerting on Jingdezhen blue and white decoration was hackled and researched systematically. Firstly, from four aspects of geographic position, social and political, economic trade and civic culture analyzed the history background of affecting by Huizhou print; In the second part, it was treated as the start point by studying The Romance of the Western Chamber’s different versions and drama was introduced briefly. Then, further discusses characteristic from the three aspects of decoration theme, images and scenes. On the basis, summed up the influence of Huizhou prints in late Ming and early Qing Dynasty exerting on Jingdezhen blue and white decorative rule:The described plot focused on Huizhou prints which include encountering romance, disembarrassing, inviting and acknowledging, entertaining, mediating, grieving for the separation. In the part of image interpretation, Zhang sheng’s appearance was basically same with the version of Huizhou prints. The images of Ying ying and the matchmaker were rather similar to Huizhou prints in terms of clothes and dynamic appearance, but were different from hair style and height. In the scene composition part, the combination of several scenes was emphasized based on the layout of single scene. In the fourth chapter, the thesis focused on the influence of craft and techniques, by adequate consideration of the blue and white porcelain’s own artistic charm. It made the truth that the decorative technique of blue and white porcelain was different from Huizhou prints for the reasons that the porcelain craftsmen were free relatively, the creative made was more stead, the process material was distinctive and the work was three-dimensional. In the end, it was thought earnestly why Huizhou prints exerted so much influence on the traditional opera pattern in the shape of blue and white porcelain. And the evolvement rule was obtained about Jingdezhen blue and white porcelain decoration by intensive study on the decoration features. The research concept was enriched and developed on the stuff of traditional opera. The paper learned much from history and traditional culture, so it was hoped that the thesis can make some positive inspiration on archaeology, identification and modern blue and white porcelain decoration.
