A Practice Report On The Application Of Conversion Of Sentence Patterns In Chinese Translation Of English Descriptive Text Harvest

Along with the three agricultural problems once again has become the focus of the No.1 document from the national central government this year, culture of family farm gradually comes into people’s sights. Translation material in this paper, Harvest introduced the culture of American family farm in detail and showed a full view of American modernized agriculture. Adhering to the original intent of promoting agricultural communication between China and western countries, Harvest is chosen to be translation material and the application of conversion of sentence patterns is emphatically discussed in Chinese translation of English descriptive texts in this practice report. Based on an analysis of the text’s language features, vocabulary,sentence patterns and language style, with a combination of sentence deconstruction and logic analysis to implement the translation practice. However, found in the process of translation, it is easy to cause deviation of expression or misunderstanding due to the differences in English and Chinese cultural background and ways of thinking. Through exploring the application of conversion of sentence patterns in Chinese translation,making it not only on the structure form more in line with Chinese expression, but also far better to express the author’s intention and readers may have a better understanding of original text. Hoping this practice report could offer reference for other translation practice in future.
