Study On The Influence Of Personality Factors On The Futures Investors Investment Behavior

Investors in futures are a special group of financial investment, they are invest contract in the future. High profit and high risk are coexisit in the future market, so it is necessary for future investors to have god skills as well as good psychology qualities. For futures investors, the investment behavior is affected by many factors. Among those factors, personality traits and coping style personality are more stable than others. This study selected the classic personality questionnaire, the Big Five Personality Questionnaire(short version) and coping style scale(CSQ)which are commonly used in psychology studies, combined with the self-made questionnaire. Collected and analysis the data of 112 futures investors’ personality traits and coping style as well as investment behavior. Combine with interview and group interview, the final conclusions are as follows:1.Personality scores of futures investors show the following characteristics: conscientiousness, openness, friendly score is higher than middle score; neuroticism and extroversion score are lower than middle score. The use frequency of coping style of futures investors from high to low in order to is: solve the problem, retreat, fantasy, rationalization, search help, remorse.2.Futures investors’ personality can predict their coping style, high precise and low neuroticism can predict more problem solving behavior; high extraversion can predict more help seeking behavior;high neuroticism can predict more reasonable coping style;friendly and extraversion can positive illusions that coping style; higher neuroticism can predict more immature coping styles(fantasy, avoidance, self blame).3.There are two intermediary effect of coping style between personality traits and investment behavior. First is the extraversion intermediary effect on capital investment proportion of the influence; the second is reasonable has a mediating effect on the amplitude of profit impact. But solve problem and fantasy has no mediating effect on personality influence on investment.The conclusions of this study can help investors understand their personality and coping style, which can make them join in the market more reasonable. In addition, this study can help them choice of mature coping style, improve the mental health level and the effectiveness of investment.
