The seal is an important part of the Chinese calligraphy history, the author thinks that the seal between the late Ming to early Qing development has certain influence to the mid Qing Dynasty, the research object of this paper is the period of the seal.In view of the pre Qin period known as the seal is also called Zhou, it consists of Oracle, bronze, stone and other components, the implementation of "standard characters" to Qin Shihuang, were developed into the script, and became the official language. In the period of the Han Dynasty and Wei Jin Southern and Northern Dynasties, the official script, regular script, cursive, seal script development slowly began to go downhill and neglected. Until the Tang Dynasty Li Yangbing’s "jade chopsticks seal, seal script" by many calligraphers of attention, but the effect is not obvious. Before the Song Dynasty, the Yuan Dynasty, the Five Dynasties and ten states, in late Ming Dynasty, although the seal calligraphers appeared, but has not formed the ancient culture. A strong academic atmosphere in late Ming Dynasty, personality liberation and inscriptions textology, many calligraphers in search of ancient law, that the book must be from the Qin and Han Dynasties. From the descendants of John Wu men calligraphy school seal, the late Ming Dynasty Zhao Yiguang’s "the grass seal", Qing Fu Shan seal achievement, more and more focus on the seal calligraphers, plays an active role in the late Qing Dynasty and a large number of calligraphers.The article consists of four parts. First of all, in the introduction part of this article introduces the situation of the seal, and expounds the research significance of the late Ming to early Qing period. Secondly, the seal condition, until the late Ming to early Qing in the late Ming to early Qing period seal art value, late Ming to early Qing period the main seal calligraphers of the three aspects of concrete research. The four part, reflects the late Ming to early Qing Jia seal achievement although less than the later, but the thought of calligraphic aesthetics in this period, and the achievements of some seal seal calligraphers have great influence on the later development of the seal.
