The so-called taboo refers to the prohibitive regulatory requirements existing in people’s daily life and also existing in people’s mind with a invisible state, which specifically includes the aspects of taboo language, taboo behavior and so on. Cultural taboos is one of the important factors deciding the intercultural communication whether proceed smoothly or not. On the view of practical cross-cultural communication between China and South Korea, due to the complexity content and variety forms of cultural taboos between two countries, the issue of taboos is likely to have a negative impact on communication, and even become an obstacle to communication if people ignore this issue in the communication process. For this reason, the taboos of two countries should be focused on, but when the scholars paid attention to this topic in the past, they just researched and analyzed the similarities and differences of language taboos between China and Korea, and ignored to further study other taboo areas. In fact, the people in the situation of cross-cultural communication should not only understand the similarities and differences of language taboo between two countries, as well as have deep understanding of other aspects of taboos. Only understanding the similarities and differences of taboos culture between two countries as well as the reasons of it in mind, are the capabilities and skills of cultural communication improved, and the cross-cultural communication will go well. Therefore, the author made complete comparative research about the Chinese and Korean taboos with the research method of literature research, comparative analysis and survey research methods. The concrete content as follows:Chapter1 is the introduction, including the meaning of taboo, the purpose and significance of the topic selecting, commenting research status and theoretical basis. The commentary of the research status is mainly from Chinese taboos, Korean taboos, intercultural communication taboos and comparative research between Chinese and Korean taboos four aspects. the theoretical basis includes cross-cultural communication theory and taboos theory two aspects.Chapter2 is “the description about the phenomenon of similarities and differences between Chinese and Korean taboos". The author made comparative research between Chinese taboos and South Korea taboos from the taboos phenomenon of language, action, etiquette and other aspects by checking documents and practical inspection. At the same time, the author also analyzed the similarities and differences between Chinese and Korean language taboos by analyzing the appellation taboos and fierce curse words taboos; also analyzed the similarities and differences of the action taboos between two countries by the taboos of action relating the nature, food taboos and action taboos in daily life everyday; at the same time, this chapter briefly summed up the taboos in animals, numbers, dates and life etc.Chapter3 is about "the analysis of reasons of the similarities and differences between Chinese and Korean taboos", specifically including analysis of the reasons of similarities and analysis of the reasons of differences between two countries’ taboos. In the process of analyzing the reasons of the similarities, the original history, the natural environment, the ruling ideology and supernatural belief four parts are considered; and analyzing the reasons of the differences from the national development and lifestyle two aspects.Chapter 4 is about "the strategy to the taboos in the Chinese and Korean intercultural communication",the concrete content of which includes the investigation and analysis of Chinese and Korean taboos, intercultural communication failure cases caused by Chinese and Korean taboos and specific strategies to the taboos.At last, the author summarized the main content of this paper, innovation and shortages at the part of conclusion.The main content of this paper is the description of the phenomenon of partial similarities and differences between Chinese and Korean taboos the reasons of it. The description of similarities and differences between Chinese and Korean taboos, except for the comparison of language taboos between two countries, the comparison of behavior taboos, etiquette taboos and other aspects are the creative part in the paper. From these aspects, this paper provides a reference value to marching intercultural communication successfully.
