Improvement Of Textbook Of Chinese For Senior Vocational Students Published By Suzhou University Press

Senior vocational educational system (Five-year Schooling) is an important extension for junior vocational educational system (Three-year Schooling), both of which start after students graduate from junior middle school. Jiangsu Province acted as one of the first provinces to try senior vocational educational system in China, so its Curriculum Revolution in this system takes its place in the front ranks of the country. Among the various elements of the revolution, the usage and improvement of the textbook is paid the most attention to. This paper introduces the using status of the textbook of Chinese for senior vocational students published by Suzhou University Press in 1999 and also makes some suggestions about the improvement of the books and how to get better teaching effects.In this paper, the writer first reviews the process of the construction of the Chinese textbook for senior vocational students in Jiangsu Province, including the orientation of the Chinese curriculum, the development of curriculum standard, and academic exploration of the construction of the textbook. Then the compilation system of the textbook published by Suzhou University Press is summarized and its main characteristics are analyzed. The writer gets the information of the using status of the textbook published by Suzhou University Press in 6 vocational schools in Nanjing by doing questionnaire surveys in these schools. After a full statistical analysis of the data, a conclusion of an immediate improvement in Chinese teaching and a necessary innovation of the textbook is made. On the basis of the above research, the writer makes some suggestions on the perfection of the textbook published by Suzhou University Press and also some suggestions on better teaching strategies to achieve a good result in the Chinese Curriculum Revolution in senior vocational education system.
