Simmel’s Life Aesthetics Theory

Georg Simmel is a famous theorist who with multiple identities and is good at many fields. Not only emphasize in society and culture problems but also interested in literary arts and aesthetic problems. The article based on the principle of "Life Experience—Death and Immortality—Individual Rule ", and analyzing the change of Simmel’s art thoughts to grasp the basic process of developing Simmel’s life aesthetic theory.The article discusses the following aspects of Simmel’s life aesthetic theory.The first part is introduction part which mainly introduced the recent study on Simmel’s thoughts.The second part, discussed the origin of Simmel’s life aesthetic theory. He was affected by the backgrounds of historic theory also the historical and cultural environment.The third part, analyze the meaning of "life". The Simmel’s life is a living life in realistic society, and includes the feelings of person’s inner world and outer world, not the biologic explanation what we had always thought. In addition, through the analysis of the meaning of life, I will explain the life aesthetics theory of Simmel: analyze the transcendence of life, death and immortality, personal principle.Through analysis, we can see that Life Experience is the way to control life, Death and Immortality is a form of life structure, Individual Rule is the further seeking to the life. Finally, proved that "Life Experience—Death and Immortality—Individual Rule" is the basis of life.The fourth part, the theory basis of Simmel’s life aesthetic theory is drawn by discuses the principle of "Life Experience—Death and Immortality—Individual Rule". Analyzing the perception of art and aesthetic to experience life redemption of Simmel.The fifth part, discuss the Enlightenment value of Simmel’s life aesthetic theory to the east and the west. Simmel thought life aesthetic is a unity, in which individual life and society exist together and to mutual tolerance. Only understanding of the meaning and value of life can experience the meaning of life.The sixth part, the conclusion of this paper briefly summarizes the Simmel’s life aesthetic theory.
