This Master’s thesis tries to give systematic and comprehensive discussion and study from four aspects as follows: an overview of his poetic life, special poetics opinions, new poetry creation, new poetry translation, in order to highlight his outstanding contributions to the chinese modern poetry.The first part: Give a comprehensive methodize of Shi Zhecun’s general poetic life. Although Shi Zhecun is not well known as a poet, his whole life has the close contact with poem. His poetic life mainly includes four aspects: early stage deep educational background breeds his sensitive, tender, refined and graceful mood as a poet; rich poetry editing activities, including organizing literature associations, publishing the journals, especially in Modern Journal, opening poetry column, publishing works of new poems, organizing and writing poem theory, culturing many new poets, which established his position in the history of china modern new poetry. Characteristic poems writing and a large number of new poetry translating achieve his dream of becoming a poet; his well-known new feeling novels absorb the ways of poetry writing. In a word, rich poetry activities nearly are essential parts of all his life.The second part: Analyze Shi Zhecun’s poetics. His opinions on poetry is not so much and systematic, but it has played a unique role in the modern poetry theory history, because it has clear and profound instructions on the language, forms,rhythm and content of the Chinese modernist poetry. Besides, he has some points of reading poems, such as explaining the difference between poetry and essay, showing ways of reading poems-faintly getting. In a whole, opinions on poems are of great value and help to us.The third part: Discuss Shi Zhecun’s New poetry creation. Combing the poetry creation course and its process of emotion changing. Shi Zhecun’s New Poetry creation have artistic charm, that highly skilled lyrical skills, psychoanalysis-inclining to feminine, free and natural Modern language, flexible and individualistic essay forms, New –feeling novels charicteristics, which make his works unique. Meanwhile this article tries to discuss the influence of writing poetry from the late-tang to the five dynasties poetry and imagist poetry, and the impact of his writing on 1930 s Modernist Poetry and the later Misty Poetry. Meanwhile he consists in being loyal to the original poetry, and he attaches importance to the added parts including preface, postscript, notation and interpretation. This essay also tries to discuss the influence of Chinese translating tradition and Shi Zhecun’s preference on choosing translating target, and the great effect of his translated poetry on 1930s’ Chinese Modern poetry and the poetry cultural exchange of China and abroad.
