Rejection Sensitivity’s Difference In Attention Bias Characteristics And Moderation Effect From Interpersonal Trust To Rejection Sensitivity

Rejection Sensitivity is a rejection by the early experience as a result of personality tendency, namely the individual shows anxious expectation, preparation of perception and overreaction tendency to rejection. When feel refused, some people would not care about it, whereas some would feel anger, anxiety or other negative emotions just because of others’ refuse or weak rejection cues, and some else even would make excessive behavior reaction. If things go on like this, those people who are easily frustrated by rejection would become very fragile and sensitive and form the auto anxiety exception, which is the rejection sensitivity. In most of the previous studies, rejection sensitivity was regarded as the mediating or moderating variable, and few studies discussed rejection sensitivity as an independent variable. This study focuses on the characteristics of rejection sensitivity: Firstly,the Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire would be revised(RSQ-R). Secondly, Point Detection of Experimental Paradigm would be used to explore the attention bias of different rejection sensitivity to social vocabulary. Thirdly, the status of rejection sensitivity of college students and the moderation of interpersonal trust on rejection sensitivity and social inferiority would be discussed. All of these are expected to enrich the research contents of rejection sensitivity, and provide the base for interpersonal relationship related mental health counseling of college students. The results of this study are presented as follows: 1) RSQ-R is a 10 items scale and made of two dimensions which are imploring people and initiating contact. The accumulated variance contribution rate is 45.856%. The internal consistency coefficient of RSQ-R, imploring people sub-scale and initiating contact sub-scale is 0.770, 0.701 and 0.666, respectively.The content validity of RSQ-R is good.The construct validity of RSQ-R is ideal( RMSEA=0.04, CFI=0.97, IFI=0.96, TLI=0.94),we selected the college students as the subjects,and the results showed there are significant difference for college students’ rejection sensitivity on gender, origin and major. However, there is no significant difference for college students’ rejection sensitivity among grade. 2) There are attention bias to social refusal words for high rejection sensitivity.3) The moderation of interpersonal trust on imploring people and social inferiority is significant, but the moderation of interpersonal trust on initiating contact and social inferiority is not significant.
