The Visual Design Of Hong Kong Traditional Chinese Medicine Packaging

The visual design of Hong Kong traditional Chinese medicine packaging has its unique style features. Different from the rational sense of western medicine packaging design, it has strong humanistic care and the characteristics of Chinese traditional culture, which embodies the essence of Chinese culture. Moreover, its age also gives it another characteristic. The visual design of Hong Kong traditional Chinese medicine packaging integrates some features of the foreign culture into itself, reflecting the exchange and collision of the Eastern and Western culture. In addition, in the fierce market competition, drug makers have gradually established the awareness of brand protection, which has put more features into its packaging visual design.In this paper, the study of the visual design of Hong Kong traditional Chinese medicine packaging is based on several influencing factors which make a contribution to its style: Chinese traditional culture, the Eastward Spread of Western, and the brand protection consciousness of drug makers. By summarizing its graphics, color, typography, fonts and other visual elements, this paper expounds its visual features and the methods of design. Through this paper, the author hopes to promote the research of the visual design of Hong Kong traditional Chinese medicine packaging and the early modern Chinese design, thus providing some reference for contemporary graphic design.
