As the impact from the multi-culture, the cultural heritage in Qingcheng Town is in the crisis of gradual disappearance. Under the background of nationwide protection and classification of cultural heritage, study on the historical roots, development context and cultural value of the Qingcheng Academy is essential. Specifically, the material of this translation practice is extracted from the first chapter(The Establishment of the Qingcheng Academy) and the sixth chapter(The Modern Cultural Value of the Qingcheng Academy) of The Qingcheng Academy. The translation of the excerpts in this book may provide a reference for English readers. They may have a comprehensive understanding of the history and essential cultural significance of Qingcheng Town. Meanwhile, they may also have some understanding of the Qingcheng cultural heritage with profound cultural accumulation, diversity and primitive form. This translation practice report is guided by Skopos theory, one of the important western functionalist translation theories. The selected source text for this translation practice mainly introduces Qingcheng cultural heritage and involves a lot of cultural elements. The purposes of the target audience are quite different. Therefore, Skopos theory is a good theory guidance that helps the author to take the appropriate translation strategies and skills so as to achieve the translation purpose. Moreover, the author adopts foreignization as the major strategy in this translation project. Based on the cultural acceptance of English readers and taking the rules of the English language as a prerequisite, foreignization can retain and highlight the characteristics of Chinese culture. In addition, the translation methods summarized in this translation practice report can be used by others.
