Competitive Thought of Yan Fu is an important part of his Evolution and Ethics. Its presented process is a compound which Yan Fu melted Darwinian’s theory of Evolution and sociological thought of Spencer so as to seek theoretical guidance process of China’s dangerous situation in modern times. Yan Fu skillfully chose Huxley’s Evolution and Ethics as the translation object. Under his adaptation, Competitive Thought gradually become the theoretical basis of innovation in modern times.In the creating process of Competitive Thought, Yan Fu expanded the scope of Competitive Thought through adaptation so as to make the content rich, and highlight the value of Competitive Thought. Using amplification, it could achieve an overview of the image interpretation, comprehensive presentation and supplied state.With the adaptation, Yan Fu described Compete, which was put out by Huxley, for the improved retention, the image of the specimens and objective absorption. In the adaptation process, Yan Fu conducted a more comprehensive interpretation and aired the thought of Struggle with Gods as well as explore a survive way which means get well along with others.After published Evolution and Ethics, Competitive Thought of Yan Fu was gradually spread, had a profound influence on China "transformation" in modern times. In terms of rational understanding of social competition, Competitive Thought can enlighten the people. In the argumentation of reformation thought, Competitive Thought is a basis. In the focus on ethics, the connotation of “get well along with others” played an assistant role. In this process, it shows the different understanding about the meaning of competition.
