A Study Of Sound Of Xihe Opera In Xingzi

Xihe Opera from Xingzi, Jiujiang city, Jiangxi province, China is usuallyed called as Big Opera and Xingzi Opera. Its scientific name is Elastic Cavity, of the sic famous antiquated operas in Jiangxi. Its singing style is unique and full of regional feature.Xihe Opera is very popular in Xingzi and has great influence on Dean, Yongxiu,Duchang, Gongqing and Jiujiang city which are not far from Xingizi, of which towns and villages also play Xihe opera, having a long history and being popular with local people.The thesis mainly talks about phonetic sound of Xihe Opera by field survey method and references of audio-video works about Xihe Opera. It also aims to sort out the phonological system of Xihe Opera and dialect phonology of Xingzi and try to establish the standard for pronunciation of Xihe Opera to change the old situation which spread the Xihe Opera by mouths and ears. On the basis of the survey,comparing the phonological system of Xihe Opera with dialect phonology of Xingzi,we can draw a conclusion that Xihe Opera is a kind of local opera, which is in the light of Xingzi dialect, both of which has a great consistency om the phonological system, though with a few differences. Besides, the thesis will draw a comparison between the phonological system of Xihe Opera and ancient Chinese phonology--《Guangyun》to analyse the history changes and development of phonetic sound of Xihe Opera. Moreover, the article describes the rhymes of Xihe Opera and analyse the features of its rhymes.At present, the academia’s research on local operas mainly focuses on their history,characters, music, etc., seldom on their languages. The thesis systematically describes and analyses the language of Xihe Opera to establish the standard for pronunciation of Xihe Opera, compare the relation of Xihe Opera, dialect and ancient Chinese phonology, which will offer help on the further study and research of Xihe Opera in the future.
