During the study of learning Japanese, I recognized that translating passive sentences is difficult. Japanese passive sentences are different from Chinese passive sentences. There are not only direct passive sentences in which actions are directly impose on objects, but also indirect passive sentences which stress bad influence. Indirect passive sentences are one of the characteristics of passive sentences in Japanese.Indirect passive sentences are also called “the troublesome passive sentences” or “the affected passive sentences”. In Japanese’s grammar, both automatic words and transitive verbs can constitute indirect passive sentence. As everyone knows, in passive sentences there must be objects which impose actions. However, automatic words in Japanese can also form a passive sentence. In indirect passive sentences, subjects are always the first person "I", and are often omitted. There are often words that express feelings of subjects behind the automatic word "て" type. Indirect passive sentences always emphasize troublesome and harmful influence, but there are also beneficial situations.According to the verbs that form sentences, this paper divided the indirect passive sentences into transitive verb indirect passive sentences and automatic verb indirect passive sentences. The classification is different, so the translation methods are also different. When it comes to the translation methods, the most basic ways are literal translation and free translation. Literal translation is to present the emotions, sense of worth, significance or style of the original text faithfully.Translation is the communication between different cultures. Different languages, different expression can also be used. For translation according to the context and the context is very necessary. Therefore, the most important in the process of translation is to choose the appropriate method.
