Research On Representation Of Zen Idea In Landscape Design

Nowadays, with the social voice about returning to tradition and nation becomes stronger,re-scrutinizing the design of Zen idea seems necessary. With regard to cultural and ideological foundation aspects, Zen has something in common with Chinese garden. The traditional and natural aesthetic view in China is interpreted through different means of expression. Zen is not only a kind of feeling, concept, but also is a kind of life status that highly praises freedom, out of secular and recovering one’s original simplicity. Along with people’s yearning for tranquil and harmonious life, constructing Zen-style space is in full swing. However, the metropolis space is contradictory to Zen life. Therefore, this paper put forward to solve this contradiction by means of combining with plant space, and to achieve the aim of Zen-style space in metropolis. In the meantime, it carried out space design as per space effect and construction of artistic conception, which was different from previous design in Zen-style space, and thus reached the final effect.Starting with Zen idea, this paper summarized, concluded and analyzed aesthetic exploration and artistic representation. Before features of emotion exploration and image in Zen-style space were resulted, it elaborated the influences of Zen to eastern and western gardens. Meanwhile in order to perceive the spiritual inherent and space standpoint, it analyzed the representative works in eastern and western gardens, provided theoretical basis for constructing Zen-style space as well. Thus the viewpoint was presented, that was the major skill for constructing Zen-style landscape was utilizing and combining plant. At the same time, this paper researched the growth of Zen idea in current society and resulted in the constructing significance to Zen-style space.Finally through the previous analyzing, introducing and concluding natural constructing skill as well as humanistic constructing skill in Zen-style space, it enlightened the environmental view of harmony between man and nature, also feeling the romantic charm via form.The experience and method on constructing artistic conception by Zen idea will bring enlightenment to the gardens in contemporary China. Associating with the time features andrequests, being endowed with the continuation towards grammar and appearance symbol in traditional garden art, it will definitely inject new vitality for modern garden landscape in China.
