An Experimental Study On The Mono-Syllable Of Nanning Cantonese

The dialect in Nanning called Nanning Cantonese. Nanning Cantonese tone is studied by the traditional listening the record way, there is no people use experimental phonetics method to study it.In this paper, on the basis of the predecessors research, for the first time, the experimental method is adopted to Nanning Cantonese mono-syllable study, in order to enrich Guangxi mono-syllable tone experimental research.The whole study is divided into7 chapters.Chapter 1 is an overview of the paper selected topic reason, Chinese tone experimental research were reviewed, and the research purpose, research methods and test procedures.Chapter 2 introduces Nanning Cantonese profiles and its sound system.Chapter 3,we study Nanning Cantonese from groups such as age, gender, and then comparing experiment tone pitch value with traditional tone pitch value. The conclusion is:the Nanning Cantonese has nine categories,the adjustable type including flat, rise and fall three types, no convex tones;T1-T9 tone pitch value is 55,31,35,24,33,21,55,33and 21;the result of experiment tone pitch compared with the traditional, is that the direction and tone pitch is slightly different.Chapter 4,we study Nanning Cantonese mono-syllable duration from groups such as age, gender, and then comparing experiment tone duration with traditional tone duration. The duration Pattern of mono-syllable tone is T5> T4> T1> T3> T6> T2> T8> T9> T7.There is difference between neutral tones and entering tones.Chapter 5,we study Nanning Cantonese mono-syllable intensity from groups such as age, gender.The results indicate that the intensity curves of T1,T2,T5 and T6 tones are both front-high type, while T3,T5,T8 and T9 tones are both flat roof type, T7 tone is middle-high type.Chapter 6,we study merge between T2 and T6 tones by phonetic experiment auditory discrimination.The results indicate that:T2 and T6 tones begin to merge; the direction of merge is T6 to T2;the reason of merge includes internal and external about phonetic system; these two tones will be merged finally.Chapter 7, to summarize chapters research results, and points out that this article deficiency, the future research direction.
