This report is written based on the translation of Business Plan of World Trade Center Nanning. The business plan might have some positive influence on the economic development of Nanning and could contribute to promotion of the international status of Nanning, and thus enabling Nanning to move a step closer to become an international metropolis. This business plan has three linguistic features:first, the language style and the structure are similar to the texts of government report and business and trade; second, a variety of the sentence structures are used, like long sentences, null subject sentences, etc. Third, there are many proper nouns, such as names of government organs and place names. The author adopts Skopos theory as his guidance throughout the translation process of this business plan. Based on the characteristics of the source text, several translation methods have been employed, such as division and inversion. After the business plan is translated, some typical cases will be presented with detailed analyses and discussion to analyze the choice of translation strategy and the use of translation methods. Finally, efforts have been made to explore the author’s experience and lessons from the perspectives of target language, source language, background knowledge of the author and so on.The project report consists of five chapters. Chapter One is introduction, which covers task description, background of BPWTCN and so forth. Chapter Two is pre-translation analyses and preparations, which contains text analysis, translation theory and so on. Chapter Three is post-translation, which includes checking, revision and the like.
