In the first place,death as one of the largest motif in literary, is an indispensable ring in the literature chain. No matter Chinese or foreign writers, they have great enthusiasm on death narrativewhich is familiar to readers.In the zeal to the narrative of death,it becomes an another consideration for destiny and existence.Since Pioneer Literature concern about death,the frequency of death is getting higher and higher in contemporary literature.It is obvious that Ayi pays more and more attentions to the motif of death.Compared with most traditional novels,characters of Ayi’s works lost their lives in coincidence.Death is not a conception but an existence which presents a special aesthetic connotation in his novels.This paper attempts to review, analyze and explain the theme of death in Ayi’s novel in a holistic way. On this basis, the author tries to explore the relation between the way of death, death and diseases as well as the relation between death and sex. At the same time, the author endeavors to understand the theme of death embodied in the novel from the perspective of aesthetics and to have an insightful view of the value of the theme, in the hope that this thesis can dig into the deeper spiritual world of Ayi and the artistic value as well as philosophy depths of his novel.Ayi’s reading experience and writing style are substantially affected by the Western philosophical doctrine. An existential life attitude endow him a sharp perspective to care for the dilemma of society and life. The philosophical attitude behind the mind state of the characters in the novel when they are faced with death and the thinking Ayi delivered to his readers is in line with the existentialism. Death is a life attitude that means born to death, which is a reminder for the reader to fight against life as a life rebel in an independent and brave way.
