Research On Fengtian Local Chronicles Compiling At The End Of The Qing Dynasty(1907~1930)

In late Qing dynasty, the area of today’s Liaoning province suffered from constant battle whereas people’s patriotism ran high. Because some countries lacked original records and some countries were newly established that hadn’t had history logs, the local history records of some places needed update as time flew by. Besides, Qing government commended that every country ought to compile history log as the material of national records and textbook of primary schools. The amendment is imminent. From 1907, there rose a climax of local history amendment in northeast China, especially in Liaoning province.This article is divided into four parts. The contents are as follows:The first part describes the background of local history amendment of Fengtian area in late Qing dynasty. This part summarizes the northeast frontier crisis at that time. Then, it concludes the characteristic of local logs before 1906 through brief analysis, pointing out the reason of local history amendment,clarifying the northeast frontier Chronicles the climax of the code.The second part is the amendment of Fengtian local history records in late Qing dynasty. It makes a clarification of the amendment from six parts, which are the reason, organization, people taking part, funds resource, process and main achievements. It is the main part, citing a great amount of historical resources, taking efforts to restore the true situation of local history amendment objectively.The third part is about the main characteristic of amendment. Based on the introduction of amendment process and the compare between the new one and the old one, it summarizes the trait of records amendment of Fengtian history records in late Qing dynasty.The forth part judges the value of records amendment of Fengtian history records in late Qing dynasty. By stating the historical value of local history records of that time, it points out that people should treat the local history records of Fengtian scientifically and make good use of it.
